Documentation

Everything PlatoLab can do, written down.

Short, task-first guides. Each one takes a couple of minutes and leaves you with something you can actually use on the page in front of you.

Getting started

Install PlatoLab, meet the canvas and learn the three gestures that matter.

Install on iPhone, iPad and Mac

PlatoLab is one app across iPhone, iPad and Mac. Join the waitlist for the beta; your library is created on first launch, and you can start writing before you ever sign in.

Your first page

Open the library, tap New and start writing. The page extends itself the moment you touch the bottom edge — you never manage blank pages by hand.

Pen, Pencil, Highlighter

Three materials with genuinely different rendering. The Pencil keeps deterministic grain, the Highlighter multiplies over your text, and the Pen stays crisp at any zoom.

Import & library

Bring in what you already study with, and keep it findable.

Supported formats

PDF, EPUB, images (PNG, JPEG, HEIC), Markdown, Typst and native notebook files. Everything lands as an editable page, never a screenshot.

Folders, covers and search

Drag notebooks between folders, star the ones you return to, and let covers render from the real first page. Search spans handwriting, imported text and titles.

The workspace

PlatoLab restores up to three tabs — a note, a book and a web page — with your scroll position intact, so an interrupted session picks up exactly where it stopped.

The agent

A docked assistant with a shell, a browser and a Python interpreter.

A hosted agent, a local notebook

The agent runs on PlatoLab's hosted AI service, included with your subscription. Your notebook stays on your device, and the agent only sees the pages you attach to a request.

Browser and video

Ask about a YouTube or Bilibili video and the agent opens it, reads the subtitle track and writes a timestamped summary into a Markdown document in your library.

Reading the page

PlatoLab composes paper, imported media and your handwriting into a single snapshot so the agent can follow a derivation you wrote by hand. Turn page images off at any time.

Memory across sessions

The agent remembers your notation, your habits and the places you got stuck, so each session starts already knowing you. Memory is stored on your device and can be cleared.

Export & trust

Get your work out, and understand exactly where it lives.

PDF export

Your pen stays vector and the original imported text stays selectable, so an exported PDF is both a faithful record and a searchable document.

A notebook you can reopen

Export any notebook as a single file that reopens as an editable notebook on another device, on iPhone, iPad or Mac.

Local-first by default

Notebooks are stored locally on your device. The hosted AI subscription adds sync and the agent service, but the notebook works without a connection.

Accounts are coming soon

PlatoLab runs on your device today. Sign-in, sync and the hosted AI subscription are on the way.
